Meet the Playsident
David Verbeck
comes from a diverse background of child advocacy, design, and
construction. David has played an instrumental role in the release of
international and regional publications on the welfare of children. His
particular interest in early child development has earned him a
reputation within the preschool community as an innovator in outdoor
play. He is also a trained
sculptor,
a former NYC playground inspector and a designer/builder
of film sets, and toys. He resides in Hawaii with his family.
Children need to have enriched play experiences,
but with working parents and a heightened concern for safety,
children are often delegated to institutionalized or solitary forms of
play. It is essential for children to be given the opportunity to freely
explore their world which a custom playground can help fulfill.
We help schools and community organizations create playgrounds that are
unique and economical. Our clients are able to develop their entire
play area by combining custom and commercial features within a natural,
landscaped environment.
"The child shall have full opportunity for play and recreation which
should be directed to the same purposes as education; society and
the public authorities shall endeavor to promote the enjoyment of
this right."
-United Nations' Declaration of the Rights of
the Child
