"The child shall have full opportunity for play and recreation which should be directed to the same purposes as education; society and the public authorities shall endeavor to promote the enjoyment of this right."

-United Nations' Declaration of the Rights of the Child
Children need to have enriched play experiences, but with both parents working and an elevated concern for safety, children are often delegated to institutionalized or solitary forms of play. It is essential for children to be given the opportunity to freely explore their natural world which a playground can help fulfill.

Grassroots Playscapes has a national role in the popular shift away from conventional equipment solutions and advocates for a greater reliance upon the natural landscape. We are located in Hawaii, but frequently consult and travel to assist companies and organizations outside of Hawaii for whom this website is intended. Interested web surfers in Hawaii are encouraged to visit www.HawaiiPlaygrounds.com for direct services.

We help schools and community organizations create playgrounds that are unique and affordable. Our clients are able to develop their entire play area by combining custom and commercial features within a naturally landscaped environment that diversifies the possibilities of play.
